Intensive Outpatient Program

Dedicated to Excellence

group in an IOP in youngstownAt every stage of the journey to recovery, patients require support and guidance. The level of care that is right for each individual patient depends on the severity of their addiction and the healthy coping skills they’ve developed in treatment. For those who are ready to begin the transition back to everyday life, our intensive outpatient program (IOP) in Youngstown offers a level of care in between our partial hospitalization program and outpatient program.

Learn more about our intensive outpatient program and if this level of care is right for you by connecting with our team today at 844.544.0502. Find out what additional addiction treatment programs we can provide for addiction recovery.

Are You a Candidate for an Intensive Outpatient Program?

Our IOP is typically the best option for those who have completed a more intensive level of care, which might include residential treatment or our partial hospitalization program. Our team members can determine if this program is right for you.

This level of care is also ideal for those who have a supportive home environment. This involves a living situation that is free from drugs and alcohol and where roommates or family members are supportive of the individual’s recovery journey. Family members might participate in family programming in order to learn more about addiction and discover how to support their loved one without enabling destructive behaviors.

No matter where you are on your journey to recovery, our team can help you access the care you need.

Benefits of Our IOP

Our IOP offers a wide variety of benefits. These include:

  • Outpatient treatment is typically less expensive than residential options
  • Our IOP’s schedule allows patients to work, go to school, and take care of responsibilities at home
  • Medication-assisted treatment can be a part of our patients’ personalized treatment plans
  • Patients benefit from ongoing group and individual therapy sessions
  • Patients can also practice their new healthy coping skills in a real-world environment

This level of care can promote lasting, sustainable recovery. Connect with our team today to get started.

Our Youngstown Intensive Outpatient Program

IOP consists of group sessions three days per week which are currently held on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. Programming also consists of scheduled individual therapy, family therapy, and case management services when needed.

The therapies we offer focus on stopping substance use and adherence to a recovery plan. Additionally, they can aid relapse prevention, mental health assessments, personal, social, family, professional, or educational dynamics, and life skill building.

Intensive outpatient services are delivered by qualified clinical staff trained in substance abuse, mental health, and a trauma-informed approach. Midwest Center at Youngstown partners with other community organizations to provide medical and psychiatric care to our patients needing those services.

Our programming is trauma-informed and evidence-based. IOP programming includes the Hazelden MATRIX model curriculum and the ATRIUM (Addiction and Trauma Recovery Integration Model) curriculum. Therapists use interventions from motivational interviewing, dialectical behavior therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, distress tolerance and mindfulness, and community reinforcement to assist in achieving your treatment goals.
