Recovery is a journey, which is why we offer several levels of care that range in intensity. Our goal is to support patients at every step of the path to lasting recovery from addiction. Through detox, residential treatment, partial hospitalization programs, and outpatient care our patients can rebuild their lives with the support of our experienced team. The least intensive level of care we offer is our outpatient addiction treatment program, which is ideal for those who are ready to return to everyday life.
Is Outpatient Addiction Treatment Right for You?
Before beginning an outpatient program, it’s important to consider whether you’re a good candidate for this level of care. For many individuals who struggle with drug or alcohol addiction, a residential treatment program is an essential part of beginning the road to recovery. Midwest Center at Youngstown’s residential program, for example, provides 24/7 support for those who are building a foundation for lifelong recovery. However, an outpatient program can be a crucial part of the transition back to everyday life.
Some of the signs that you’re ready for an outpatient addiction treatment program include:
- You have a stable living situation that is free from drugs and alcohol
- You’re committed to participating in therapy and counseling
- You’ve begun to develop healthy coping skills to avoid relapse and deal with stress in a healthy way
- Your loved ones are participating in family programming and are supportive of your recovery journey
- Your treatment team, which includes therapists and your case manager, has recommended that you transition to outpatient care
In outpatient addiction treatment, patients have the support of their treatment team and their peers in recovery as they begin to return to daily responsibilities. During this time, patients might be looking for a job, finding stable housing, and building healthy habits.
What to Expect in Outpatient Addiction Treatment
Midwest Center at Youngstown’s outpatient programming in Youngstown consists of one group session per week, which is currently held on Mondays from 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm. Programming also consists of scheduled individual therapy, family therapy, and case management services when needed.
