Addiction is a complex disease. There is no one-size-fits-all approach that works for every individual in recovery. Those looking to overcome addiction benefit from personalized treatment plans tailored to their unique needs and goals.
Our residential programming helps our clients build a strong foundation for lifelong recovery. In this level of care, patients participate in activities and addiction therapies designed to target their specific addictions. Group and individual counseling, 24/7 support, and medical care as needed are all essential parts of our residential programming.

What Is Residential Programming?
Residential treatment includes a 24/7 stay in our Austintown facility. It is highly recommended for intensive care. This level of care not only gives you the chance to step away and focus on your healing journey, but also gives you access to a personalized, in-depth treatment plan.
After residential treatment, clients typically transition to a less intensive level of care. The outpatient programs we offer include:
- Intensive Outpatient Program – Group therapy sessions three times a week as well as individual therapy
- Outpatient Program – Once-weekly sessions and individual therapy
We provide ongoing support for clients even after they’ve completed a formal treatment program. 12-step meetings, group therapy sessions, and individual sessions can all help our alumni maintain their recovery long-term.
At Midwest Center at Youngstown, we help those struggling with an addiction to opioids, alcohol, stimulants, and other substances. Through evidence-based and holistic therapies, our patients begin to heal in a safe, supportive environment.
The Benefits of Residential Addiction Treatment Programs
While outpatient programs allow people more flexibility with their schedules, residential treatment is a great fit for people who need more intensive support to get and stay sober. Those who are just starting their recovery journey, or who have tried and failed to get sober before, often need more structures in place to help them enter recovery.
In residential treatment, clients have more access to care than in outpatient treatment. It’s also helpful for clients to get away from outside stress and triggers so they can focus solely on
recovery. While in treatment, clients learn about the underlying reasons they used substances and their triggers, so they can practice coping skills in a safe environment.
Clients in residential treatment live alongside recovery-focused peers while they learn coping skills to stay sober. They can find mutual support amongst their peers in treatment and can cheer each other on. Many people meet lifelong friends in residential treatment who become part of their recovery support network.
