What Is a Partial Hospitalization Program?

Our partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a highly structured intensive level of care consisting of daily group sessions which are currently held Monday through Friday from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm. Programming also consists of scheduled individual therapy services as well as family therapy and case management services when needed. Lunch and snacks are provided.

The treatment and support that patients receive during partial hospitalization provide a safe place to discuss setbacks, make plans for the future, and heal from past traumas. Therapists and support groups provide patients with practical advice and guidance on the new life ahead.

Our team creates custom treatment plans for each patient that comes through our doors. Some of the therapies and services we offer to those in our PHP include:

  • ATRIUM (Addiction and Trauma Recovery Integration Model) curriculum
  • Motivational interviewing
  • Dialectical behavior therapy
  • Cognitive-behavioral therapy
  • Counter conditioning
  • Distress tolerance and mindfulness
  • Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR)
  • Expressive arts techniques

All of these therapies help our patients develop the healthy coping skills they need for lasting sobriety.

  • You’ve shown enough improvement to be well enough to leave treatment at night and stay healthy
  • You have family commitments like caring for children or elderly family members
  • Residential treatment isn’t covered by your insurance
  • You have responsibilities at work

A partial hospitalization program is especially effective for those who have built a solid foundation for recovery.

What can you expect in our Youngstown partial hospitalization program?

You’ll work through the underlying causes of addiction with experienced therapists and your peers in recovery. The factors that can contribute to substance use issues might include past trauma, co-occurring mental health issues, stress, and even chronic pain.

Fitness and wellness are important parts of our addiction treatment programs alongside behavioral therapies. In our fitness center, patients can find a healthy outlet for stress. Whether you enjoy running on a treadmill, spin classes, yoga, or lifting weights, you can participate in the exercise you enjoy.

Additionally, we offer a range of holistic therapies such as guided meditations and art therapy. These can be helpful ways to connect with your emotions and deal with stress even after you’ve finished treatment.
